Wild Iris is looking for interns who wish to gain experience in the management and marketing of a variety of business models.
We are a network of individual businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, developers and visionaries. We share resources in a manner that will allow us to compete with the big corporations while retaining our individuality and focus on customer service, environmental and socially responsible practices and the joy of developing and creating something special.
We are looking for bright, energetic and forward thinking interns. As a part of this program you may gain experience with Business Management, Search Engine Optimization Marketing, Link-Building, Graphic Design, Visual Media, Cooperative Networking Techniques, Customer Service, eCommerce, and much more. You will have a chance to work on projects that will improve your professional skills while helping to create one of the most innovative business opportunities available.
This is a project based internship. We will work with you to develop a project which will benefit you and your desired learning path as well as benefit our programs and services. We will help you with training, guidance and mentoring. We ask you to commit to at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of 15 weeks.

Small Business Management
During this internship you gain experience in managing a variety of small businesses. You will work with three different business models or you can choose one to concentrate on. Options include brick and mortar retail, online eCommerce or non-profit management. You will experience both the day to day management and long term planning and marketing of the business. This will be a great internship for someone who wants to learn more about the hands-on reality of running independent and start-up businesses. For this internship we are looking for someone who is organized, enjoys networking with other professionals and tackling a variety of challenges.
On-line Resources Coordinator
During this internship you will research and publish a variety of literature reviews, genre specific recommendation lists and resources that will enrich our customers experience in our on-line book store. This will be a great internship for someone who loves writing, researching literature and helping customers find quality resources to enhance their lives. For this internship we are looking for someone who is organized and has strong research and writing skills.
Search Engine Optimization Marketing
During this internship you will develop and implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) marketing campaigns for five related websites. You will work with two e-commerce sites, two blog sites, and one informational site. We will use a variety of research and analytical tools to find the best keyword phrases, integrate them into site content and then track the search engine results. This will be a great internship for someone who wants to learn more about the analytical side of SEO and implementing a structured SEO marketing campaign. For this internship we are looking for someone who enjoys research & analysis and has strong writing skills.
Link-Building
During this internship you will develop and implement Link-Building marketing campaigns for five related websites. You will work with two e-commerce sites, two blog sites and one informational site. We will use a variety of research and analytical tools to identify link building opportunities and to track our progress as it relates to other similar sites and our search engine page ranking. This will be a great internship for someone who wants to learn more about link-building as it relates to search engine optimization (SEO). For this internship we are looking for someone who enjoys research & analysis and is a strong verbal communicator.
Visual Media
During this internship you will create visual media for five related websites. You will work with two e-commerce sites, two blog sites, and one informational site. You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of platforms and initiatives to provide a real world learning experience. This will be a great internship for someone who wants to gain experience developing visual media for business applications. For this internship we are looking for someone who has training or experience in visual media technologies and is interested in learning about how to use those skills in an e-commerce and business website.
Graphic Design
During this internship you will develop and implement a graphic design look and feel for five related websites, including advertising components. You will work with two e-commerce sites, two blog sites, and one informational site. You will incorporate Search Engine Optimization techniques into the way in which graphical elements are included on the sites. You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of platforms and initiatives to provide a real world learning experience. This will be a great internship for someone who wants to learn more about using template designs on websites and optimizing site design for SEO. For this internship we are looking for someone who has training or experience in graphic design and is interested in learning about working with templates and content management systems.
